tuesday.

woke up around 530 a.m. and decided that i may as well stay awake at least until i heard the singing jogger; and i did.

i know this is like the third time, but it's at least a different version.

that's all i have to say about today.

this ain't malarkey.

Sagittarius - June 29, 2009

A close friend or love partner whom you haven't seen for a while could finally make arrangements to see you, dear Sagittarius. You could spend much of the day in a great mood, looking forward to the encounter ahead. You'll have a lot of fascinating information to share. It might be a good idea, however, to cut your visit a little shorter than you'd like and make arrangements for another meeting. Otherwise, you will get too tired.

MSN Astrology

...looking forward to the day. i hope kam and i had actually go through with our beach plans, it's been a while.
then small kine work.
and then who knows what life will have to offer...

click: the wedding song. ..it's not like a funny video or anything, just a sappy ass love song.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

ok, so i just sat here for a while and had myself a pretty long thought and...well..i just know.

...................

beach plans when through, yay!
cheers to swimming in seaweed at the beach and to new begingings.

i was right, btw.

suffering succotash.

do you know what succotash is?? according to the "the new american webster handy college dictionary" (does the name seriously have to be that long?), succotash is: n. a dish of lima beans and corn. ...hmm..never had it. i should try and make it, although it really doesn't sound that appetizing.

so here's how the day went:
went to bed sometime after 5 a.m. this morning, woke up around 9:30 a.m. to go the beach with trav, threw on a bright orange-licious dress. once trav arrived i checked my horoscope:

Sagittarius - June 28, 2009

Beige is out, orange is in! Sensible shoes and practical clothes get the boot in favor of stiletto heels and wild print ties. Your passion and sense of romance is at an all-time high, dear Sagittarius, so you might as well take advantage of it for all it's worth. You can expect to reap a tremendous payoff as a result of the extra efforts you have been making with your appearance.

MSN Astrology

...wow. beige, a natural color. i absolutely looove natural colors (eXspecially brown)... but today, today i picked the orange dress. more surprisingly, as often as i usually read the "tomorrow's" horoscope, yesterday i did not. the orange dress was just meant to be i suppose.
...as for the "all-time high on the passion and sense of romance", i suppose i can see that. i have been wishful thinking a lot and watching a lot of sappy shit on the boob tube and obviously at the movie theatre.
...apperance wise, i have been getting a tan (which is only a payoff now, i will probably be old and wrinkly) (i have been wearing suncreen), i haven't been eating much (busy, nothing sounds good, laziness), and i actually did a lot of treading water today at makapuu. but payoffs you say?? payoffs sound good.

i can go on and on about how amazing the water felt today. beach time in the a.m. is super nice:
-you don't have to fight for parking
-it's not crowded on the shore or in the water
-you have the whole day ahead of you
-the sun is in a good position
-helps to cure hangovers
-makes you happy the rest of the day (which is now a longer day since you had already woken up earlier)

i wanna go tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that and the day after that....

i have been thinking about this quote from the movie "dream for an insomniac" quite frequently for the past few days:
"anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love is a waste of your time."
...must be me at my "all-time high" of passion and romance kicking in.

click: let me know.
i've had this song stuck in my head all day. reminds me of trav, he's a little bit woman-crazy at the moment.
and it's funny because i mess up his game everywhere we go. (not purposely, of course, people just assume...)

click: honey baby.

click: the one.

mushy, mushy mush.

and then....a reality check.
a ben franklin quote: "but in the world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes."
...those are two things i would assume the majority of people would not be looking forward to, and if those are the only two certainties in life, you must do whatever you can to make the rest of your life enjoyable.
so, on a happier note, follow your heart and just be happy.
haha, look at me, trying to figure out life fiften minutes before i have to leave for work, and i'm not even ready to go.

gym update: the last time i went to the gym after a solid three+ months of not going was about two weeks ago. and i haven't gone back since.

surviving saturday...

two trips to the movie threatre in the past twelve hours...impressive...
at least i wasn't the only one flying solo.
after seeing a bunch of sickening lovey-dovey couples during the previews i just closed my eyes and wished i was back at the dollar theatre watching "mall cop".

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

work- eh, not bad. swaped out of closing, again! OBVIOUSLY i'm over being at that place. but, life is life, and life needs money and money it's making at the moment. it's really not thaaaat bad...i only had a good night because i knew i was getting out early though...and made pretty good money, as well.

[;p (---> that is typed from psycho olive jumping around the computer desk, btw)

went out after work. it was a fun time, for sure. i didn't puke in any cups or get carried out by a bouncer, and i still have both my slippers...a good night in my book. didn't get toooo wasted, but only now do i realize that i only thing i ate today was about 2 cups worth of flied lice...and that's it. plus beer, and patron shots and a little bit of lime of course.

hum...i must say, the worst thing about coming home at 5 a.m. is having to watch out for smashing the nasty slugs on the path to my front door. serioulsy. i never wear slippers, and they're alwayyyys out, eXspecially after the sprinklers have already come on. ewww. i ditched and dodged every single one tonight, thankfully.

did i mention i was actually dancing? wow... it's fun, at least. i don't give two shits anymore. i used to be very self-concious about it, but.......f you....and everything else, too.

oh yah, did end up running into the dude who left me his number the other night at work (in whom i did NOT call, of course).......freak......

fading friday. / climbing through driver's side door early saturday morning

i was feeling a little "under the weather" this morning so i texted in sick to work.
feeling a little guilty, but that's just what happened.
haven't done much of anything for the past three days except get food, go to savers (twice) and made it out to drink.
and heading out for a movie in a bit.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

i thought about how pathetic i must have seemed the past fews days (particularly the past twenty-four hours), as i prepared myself for the movie. knowing wearing make-up would only be a mistake i did anything else i could think of to "feel good" about the way i was looking. this, of course, called for my second favorite pair of jeans (the first are hardly suited for wearing out) and the hair to be did. i almost even un-retired my most favorite shirt, even just for the night, to have a comfortable friday evening bawling my eyes out at the movie theatre (with a female friend, for sure), but no, it stay retired at home and meow i have to settle for something else. but what?!
i don't want to settle for something else.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"my sister's keeper"- loved it. and yes, it was a good thing i didn't wear any make-up to see the movie.
i love going to the movies. i mean, you can only see a movie for the first time ONCE! ...and it's never the same after that. it's nice to escape from your own life for a couple of hours and get fully engulfed by some strangers' life (and then cry and it feels good). sometimes, however, i do forget that it is a movie: it's fake. either way, it's nice.

got olive some more new toys (s p o i l e d) on p.p. and i's 1 a.m. wally-world run. she loooooves the laser light.

6-23-09 / singing jogger / olive you

ahhh! finally heard the singing jogger this morning! it was definitely the same guy... immediately looked at the time; it was 613 a.m. i'm going to be looking and listening for him from now on...and eventually get some footage.

Sagittarius - June 23, 2009

It may feel like something has suddenly clicked into place for you today, dear Sagittarius, and that you have found the missing piece of a puzzle you have been working on for a while. The answers may be subtle, but they are there. Fantasy and a playful attitude will lead you to them effortlessly. Spread your ideas out to the world today and adopt an attitude that encourages others to join in your daydreams as well.

MSN Astrology

...we'll see how it pans out.

olive has been obsessed with straws lately (like me). she will seriously steal them out of my drinks and carry them around like a dog. hahaha
she's also getting so big :( she jumps around like a crazy acrobat doing kamikaze dives, flipping and crawling up things. it's like her cat instincts; she would be a good killer, bird hunter.

...i'm almost starting to feel like a nuts cat lady...

something to add to the pet peeves list: when people call "gyoza" "goiza".

oh god, "the land before time". a song from it used to make me cry everytime when i was a little kid. at the end, when they made it to the great valley i would start balling. my mom would say, "diane, why are you crying? they made it to the great valley!" and i would reply in tears, "but the mom diiiied!"... and even once when i heard the song played at my sister's band/chrous show it made me cry, too! not really anymore though. guess i've grown numb.

mawkish monday.

Sagittarius - June 22, 2009

Think before you act today, dear Sagittarius; otherwise, you may find yourself in tough situations that you can't extract yourself from. You are likely to find that someone's emotional thermometer is up to its maximum point, so be careful about the things you say and do. False information may be flying around posing as truth, so be careful of the facts you receive and use. There is no guarantee that what you hear is for real.

MSN Astrology

while watching tbs, doug from "king of queens" mentioned pizza and it reminded me that today was five dollar medium one-toppings at papa john's...so i went and got myself a pizza. ...yah, i totally needed a whole pizza to myself. i'll probably eat it for dinner and breakfast, too.
also got olive some new toys.

just found out some information about the journalism program at uh today...so i applied (two months late). now all i can do is wait and hope that i get in for the fall, otherwise it will be a whole nother year for the program to start. ahhh. why didn't i get my shit strait sooner?!

who designs band-aids? i want that job. umbrellas, too. and....maybe car air fresheners.

j.rak and i both decided that when she gets here in july a must-do is to go the the pineapple fields and scream at the top of our lungs. because we need it.
i'll bust out the guitar chotto as well, so, j.rak, you had better learn to sing "first day of my life" with me...or else... ;)

my fajja.

my dad was one of ten kids in his family. he grew up in peoria, illinois where he met my mother in high school (also from peoria). they got married at nineteen when my dad joined the air force. three kids later, they've been together every since and just celebrated their 26th anniversary.

i can see much of myself in my father. besides having a butt-chin like him, i'm quite a talkative story-teller, as is he. his nickname is even "hollywood" because he knows everrrryone (and if he doesn't, he will start talking to you anyway). it is also "hollywood" because while we were living in japan japanese people always thought he was an "american movie star". haha.
he taught me all i know and love about the outdoords such as fishing and camping. he let me skip school just to go fishing with him sometimes. he got me my first bow and arrow in the second grade for my birthday. in fifth grade i spent every single saturday at the archery range with him and the boys.

he also showed me the joy in the many simple pleasures of life.

although we live so far away from each other now and aren't two to talk to each other on the phone very often, we are still very close. whenever i'm home he always makes it a point to take me out on the motorcycle, do some christmas shopping together, watch home movies, or have a beer with just me. and then my dad always gives me good advice on life. i'm so lucky.

we used to listen to hank williams jr. on road trips all the time, so here's one for my pap. click: family tradition.

Sagittarius - June 21, 2009

Don't bother asking for favors today, dear Sagittarius. Everyone else will have his or her own set of tasks to worry about. Your job is to deal with your own, and not complain about it. The hardest step you take will be the first, but once you have gone that far, the rest will be a breeze. Momentum will build, and pretty soon the work will be effortless. Take pride in your abilities.

i <3 postcards...(IV)

i had just been walking to check the mail...i wasn't looking at the ground because i was messing with my keychain when i accidentally kicked something: a dead pigeon. gross.

at least i got some new postcards!

from parents, iowa. my family and i's favorite truck stop in iowa. my parents had been road tripping from minnesota to illinois...

from parents, illinois. (where my parents grew up, sister and some other family live there, too)

from quincy, san fran. get back soon!

from mo, florida. this one is even made out of wood :)

so-so so far saturday.

feeling like i overslept between last night and this morning; very sluggish.

Sagittarius - June 20, 2009

Be practical about your dreams today, dear Sagittarius. Realize that all your talk is still just talk until you manifest it with your own two hands. Attend to all the details, especially when it comes to social engagements, and anything relating to others in general. You will find that the more stable and rational you are, the more you are apt to connect with other people on a practical, working level.

cleaned my bathroom and olive's bathroom (the litter box)...
watched way too much discovery health.
wore my brown dress and rode my newly painted brown bike to get the usual lunch. (pictures coming soon)
and am now just trying to keep a positive attitude for work tonight.

i don't want to drink again for a while.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

work had it's ups and downs:
it wasn't that busy...
i busted my ass...some kid had spilled a whole cup of water on the ground and i slipped in the puddle. luckly i fell on my left cheek so it was pretty cushion. mostly just my pride hurt. having some grip on the bottom of my shoes would be nice, too, but i still haven't got any new ones except thoes really cute ones that killed my feet. so, no-grip it is!
towards the end of the night i had an uneasy, non-stop butterfly feeling in my stomach when i just got to thinking about the way things are...
made okay money...

Friday, June 19, 2009

it's friday...

...and 5 o'clock somewhere...hahaha.

so yes, i've been drinking for the past four days. twas good though. needed a mini-vacay; especially before going back to work at the restaurant tomorrow, and closing.

yesterday's "theraputic thursday" was amazing.
speaking of, we were all trying to figure out why the pool has a "NO MARCO POLO" sign. like seriously, why?! does the resident manager have some secret hate for the game? what if you play "DIANE WHITESIDE" instead? ...would you get in trouble? or is there a real safety concern??
so, in my notebook i had aside me at the pool i wrote "NO MARCO POLO, but why!?!"...and then this morning i saw a licens plate on a truck that said "BUT-WHY". exactly.
and what exactly does that mean? just a conisidence? a sign? destinty? idk.

Sagittarius - June 19, 2009

Your quick and witty nature may have a hard time getting off the ground, dear Sagittarius, and you might feel as if you are simply stuck in a big mud puddle. Don't sweat it. This is probably a safe place for you to be. This is a great time for you to simply sit back and absorb the world around you. Be receptive to other people, especially to their feelings. Adopt discipline and you will go far.

MSN Astrology

...discipline is KEY.

june 17 / a lot about olive.

click: easier.

...in my own head i change the words to the song to make it fit with my life.

off for the next two days. :)

olive just had a check-up and got a vaccine at the vet. she's very healthy and i found out she's an american shorthair. (well, at least part) it doesn't seem like the other ones i've seen in pictures have her spotted belly. i think she may be part bengal, too.
according to wikipedia they live fifteen to twenty years.
olive, you and i got a long way to go... :)

as much as i wanted to try and make her and outdoorish cat the vets don't really recommend it since it's not as safe for them. looks like she'll mostly be staying inside. maybe she can cruise the bug here or there with me sometimes...

since olive was found at pearl city high school we weren't quite sure her age. the doctor said she's between eight and ten weeks old and i had to pick her a birtday at the vet so april 15, tax day, is now olive's birthday.

so i came across a goofy cat astrology website for my little aries olive.
click: foo foos cat astrology.
here's some things it said:
-adventurous and pioneering
-enjoy climbing all over things and especially looking into others' windows
-in past lives, these cats were probably sailing on pirate ships, exploring uncharted waters, burying treasure (and let's not forget raping and pillaging). ...(??)
-get used to the constant trips to the pound that will result from their wandering.
-the bodily correspondence of this sign is the head because felines born under this sign can be head strong and independent
-the aries cat will spend far too much time preening in front of a mirror.
-an unusual hobby of the aries feline is motoring and auto mechanics.
-ruled by mars
-color is red
-is a fire and cardinal sign
-prefer nimble japanese sports cars ...yay, me too.

Sagittarius - June 16, 2009

You may feel like you are butting heads up against almost every person and situation that you come across today, dear Sagittarius. Some days are just like this. Try not to get frustrated at yourself for the way you feel. This is only a passing phase. If things are difficult for you, this could be a reflection of the fact that you are lacking structure in that area of your life. Take an honest look at this, and make any necessary adjustments.

MSN Astrology

...great...looks like i have a wonderful day to look foward to, especially working both jobs... i'll try to make the best of it, though. and try to make it to taco tuesday.

i did dig out early on my night job again, for the third night in a row. maybe it's time for a new job; i just do not want to be there.
