fwds from my pops.

...i don't really get very important emails on my old hotmail address which i've had since the seventh grade and it goes like "mybodythehandgrenade". yah, seriously, it's the album name of one of hole's older cd's. bahaha.

anyway, my dad pretty much just sends me forwards, most of which i would say worth spending the time to look at. but i can't just check them when they come, i let them pile up and i just have to be in a certain mood to look at them. anyway, i liked this one, i don't know who wrote it.

[THIS IS 2 YEARS OLD)
but i guess the point is he existed!

Courage.

You're a 19 year old kid.
You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam .
It's November 11, 1967.
LZ (landing zone) X-ray.
Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MedEvac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.
Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.
As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter.
You look up to see a Huey coming in. But ... It doesn't seem real because no MedEvac markings are on it.
Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you.
He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.

Even after the MedEvacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety.
And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!
Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.

He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain Ed Freeman,United States Air Force, died last Wednesday at the age of 70, in Boise, Idaho .
May God Bless and Rest His Soul.
I bet you didn't hear about this
hero's passing, but we've sure seen
a whole bunch about Michael
Jackson and Tiger Woods.

...explain more later.
click: 40th earth day.

so i'm dressed up, got somewhere to go...just wish i had someone to tell me whether i look absolutely ridiculous or not before i walk out the door...
sure, i'm wearing a same 'ol (favorite) dress, but it's topped off with a weird sweater thing. i've got to try and figure out what it's called.

ok, it's like sweater poncho. from the little kids department at savers that i've had forever and never worn before.
here goes notin'.

gee, whiz, the end of the semester is biting me in the ass.
all my fault, all my fault.
i've got like five stories to work on, and way too many other things to attend to like baby showers, music festivals and work.
one way or another, it will get done.

Sagittarius - Apr. 15, 2010

If you aren't careful, there's a strong possibility that you'll overindulge today, Sagittarius. Your career frustrations may manifest in the form of overeating, excess drinking, or reckless spending. These are just symptoms masking the real problem. If you can take some time to meditate, you'll calm your nerves and reveal the root of your frustration. Once you have the facts, it will be easier to devise an effective solution.

4.14

Sagittarius - Apr. 14, 2010

Group activities, perhaps with a social, ecological, or humanitarian focus, could take place today somewhere in your neighborhood, Sagittarius. You might decide to attend with your romantic partner. You could encounter some friends in the process, and all of you could well be caught up in the excitement generated by those in the spotlight. Listen well and think about what you learn today. It might make a difference in your future.

ooh, ri ri?

whooooops, happened to park in the biggest puddle around. bahaha.

a pril.

at the beginning of the semester my teacher said he was going to give us a lot of rope...but he said to be careful because if you have a lot of rope it's easy to hang yourself.
i feel a bit of chaffing around my neck...

here's at least one thing i've gotten accomplished in school.

idiom of the day:
as mad as a hatter.

[this simile means that someone is crazy or behaves very strangely. in the past many people who made hats went insane because they had a lot of contact with mercury.]

finally did my taxes today with less than two days to spare. seems like i'm getting back too much money...but cheeee, hopefully i'm right.

decided and decorated a theme in the downstairs bathroom: sakuras (surprise, surprise. i had more than enough cherry blossom stuff scattered throughout the house to suffice.

picked some fleas off olive(r). (sometimes i call her that for fun)

Sagittarius - Apr. 6,2010

Regardless of your situation, Sagittarius, you'll want to take the easy way out. There's a laziness sweeping over you, and you could be trying to find a way to sneak out of some responsibilities. Even if this idea seems terrific now, it's likely to get you into some trouble later. Be wary of cheating the system and then expecting the full benefits of hard work in return. You'll earn exactly what you deserve.

...eeek. probably so.

me lately...work, school, keeping up with daily life and hanging with o.d.

i forgot about saturday night (technically sunday morning, easter, the end of lent), probably because i was too drunk to remember most of it. after not drinking for about a month and a half, all those shots on kam's b-day did me in. what i can remember, however, was fun; i was even dancing. and the next day p.p. reminded me of our hitch hikining experience to zippy's. and then i recalled riding in the back of a truck. wow.

i had no pranks prepared which made for a pretty lame day. i did manage to come up behind shin-chan without him knowing, simply took advantage of the situation and scared him, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.

Sagittarius - Apr. 1, 2010

A social event in your neighborhood could connect you with people who share your spiritual and intellectual inclinations, Sagittarius. As a result, you'll probably make some new friends and spend a lot of time on the phone with them over the next few days. If you're single, one could be a potential love partner. If you're a writer or artist, expect oodles of inspiration to hit you as a result of all this.
